The GeyserLog app is primarily intended as a way of getting the latest geyser times and information from GeyserTimes. It can also be used to enter new observations and data.

Submitting observations and events

First you will need to set up an account on the GeyserTimes site. Then go into the Settings app and select the GeyserLog row. There you need to turn on the "Submit Events" switch.

If you want to practice submissions, or just get a feel for how it works, you can enable the "Use Sandbox Server". The app indicates that you are in Sandbox mode when the clock bar at the top has a purple background instead of the normal light blue.

Bugs and Enhancements

The reviews in Apple's AppStore is not the best way to report bugs or suggest enhancements or improvements. Use the email address in the sidebar.

Some intended or in-progress future additions include:

  • Almanac of solar and lunar times.
  • Weather forecast for Old Faithful area.
  • Local Yellowstone NP seismic activity.
  • Timestamp overlay onto video recordings.
  • AppleWatch interface.
