I found that Rift's marker was gone, and all of the features there quiet. But I only had to wait one Turban eruption interval before Grand erupted. Unlike yesterday, at least the One Burst Eruption lasted about 10-1/2 minutes.

2024-Aug-17:07:18:12 T1Q

07:17:57 Turban -0m15s
07:18:12 B1 --- d=10m29s
07:20:45 Vent 2m33s
07:28:41 P1 10m29s
07:29:33 V&T Quit 11m21s
07:37:29 V&T Restart 19m17s

          ΣD=10m29s
* * * * *
07:01:30   d=02m59s
       Turban: 16m27s

Afterwards, I noticed that the water levels in the Sawmill Group were high. Belgian Pool was full to the rim, while Crystal was overflowing slightly and drowning Slurp. Sawmill was high and quiet, while Spasmodic was quiet and starting to overflow. Tardy was full and overflowing, and booped once while I was taking a video of the group.

The overflow from Spasmodic ended within ten minutes, and all the water levels dropped by then.

By early afternoon Belgian had dropped about 5cm so that the side lobe was empty. At Grand there were several undistinguished Turban eruptions followed by a Turban Delay interval of over 33 minutes. The next few intervals were all around 17 to 17-1/2 minutes long.

It was six Turban eruption intervals later where Grand finally looked like there would be an attempt at erupting. Vent started to overflow a few second before Turban began a vigorous eruption. This eruption lasted for over 2-1/2 minutes before Grand finally started, with Vent in overflow and Grand was pulsating the whole time. Because of the long delay in Grand starting, Vent started just over a minute after Grand.

The first burst lasted just under eight minutes. There was never much doubt that there would be a second burst, which ended up lasting a minute. Vent & Turban quit less that a minute later. Vent & Turban quickly restarted about nine minutes later.

2024-Aug-17:16:07:54 D6/T2Q

16:05:13 Vent Ovfl -2m41s
16:05:17 Turban -2m37s
16:07:52 Boop -0m02s
16:07:54 B1 --- d=07m51s
16:09:00 Vent 1m06s
16:15:45 P1 7m51s d=42s
16:16:27 B2 8m33s d=01m00s
16:17:27 P2 9m33s
16:18:16 V&T Quit 10m22s
16:27:27 V&T Restart 19m33s

         ΣB=08m51s ΣD=09m33s
* * * * *
13:14:42   d=05m04s
13:32:25 Int: 17m43s d=04m19s
13:50:38 Int: 18m13s d=04m22s
14:23:55 Int: 33m17s d=04m16s  D0
14:39:54 Int: 15m59s d=03m46s  D1
14:57:20 Int: 17m26s d=03m53s  D2
15:14:32 Int: 17m12s d=04m07s  D3
15:31:32 Int: 17m00s d=03m50s  D4
15:48:47 Int: 17m15s d=03m34s  D5
       Turban: 16m30s

For the third day in a row, Uncertain was looking interesting after Grand. Didn't have a long wait before we got to see it erupt.

The moon was high in the sky, and an orange-red due to a layer of smoke. It slowly improved during the wait for the next Grand eruption, but even an hour later there was a yellowish cast and it didn't seem bright enough for moonbows.

Arrived at Grand in time for the Turban Delay eruption, but fortunately, the wait was only for two more Turban intervals. Grand tried to have a second delay, but finally started the One Burst Eruption 24 minutes after the previous Turban eruption. As expected, we didn't see any sign of moonbows, although the moon was bright enough to see details of Grand's water spikes.

2024-Aug-17:23:09:56 G1C

23:09:56 B1 --- d=10m09s
23:10:48 Turban 0m52s
23:13:21 Vent 3m24s
23:20:06 P1 10m09s
Vent & Turban continue

          ΣD=10m09s
* * * * *
22:27:26
22:27:26 d=05m29s
22:45:57 Int: 18m31s d=04m34s
        Grand: 23m59s

During the Grand eruption, West Triplet was near overflow, and at one point, put out a trickle of water

With no report on activity in the Grand or Sawmill groups, and Grand's interval around nine hours, I went out at sunrise to see what was going on.
