For six Turban intervals, both the durations and the intervals got short so that the Grand eruption was less than 16 minutes after a Turban eruption lasting less than 3-1/2 minutes. Were fortunate to have Grand erupt when it did, as a thunderstorm moved in as we were leaving, with a downpour about twenty minutes later.

2024-Aug-20:08:40:19 T1C

08:40:02 Turban -0m16s
08:40:19 B1 --- d=10m53s
08:43:09 Vent 2m50s
08:51:12 P1 10m53s
Vent & Turban continue

          ΣD=10m53s
* * * * *
06:22:31   d=01m39s
06:35:46 Int: 13m15s d=04m39s
06:53:52 Int: 18m06s d=04m07s
07:11:57 Int: 18m05s d=03m59s
07:30:57 Int: 19m00s d=03m38s
07:49:18 Int: 18m21s d=03m33s
08:07:07 Int: 17m49s d=03m29s
08:24:23 Int: 17m16s d=03m27s
       Turban: 15m38s

Ended up waiting less than two Turban eruption intervals before the next Grand eruption. The interval on which Grand eruption was almost a Turban Delay interval, but came about 25seconds short. It took Turban almost a minute to start its eruption. The first burst lasted 9m18s, and the pause between the bursts was short, at 21s. It also had a sort of two meter high boop before starting. It was a windy day, and my camera tripod tried to take flight on a couple of occasions.

2024-Aug-20:15:24:52 G2Q

15:24:45 Boop -0m07s
15:24:52 B1 --- d=09m18s
15:25:48 Turban 0m56s
15:27:41 Vent Ovfl 2m49s
15:28:36 Vent 3m44s
15:34:10 P1 9m18s d=21s
15:34:31 B2 9m39s d=44s
15:35:15 P2 10m23s
15:36:01 V&T Quit 11m09s

         ΣB=10m02s ΣD=10m23s
* * * * *
15:00:17   d=04m03s
        Grand: 24m35s

Decided to kill some time at Riverside, but after about 15 minutes, got a radio call about Beehive's Indicator in eruption. As it had been less than twelve hours since the pre-sunrise eruption, decided to abandon Riverside and head to the Firehole River overlook. The Indicator lasted at least 27 minutes, and looked like we might be getting a False Indicator. Until the last five minutes or so, there was only some weak splashing from Beehive.

Grand could've taken the opportunity to erupt instead of having a Turban Delay interval. The moon had just risen above the trees, and it would have been nicely backlit. Instead it was six Turban intervals later, and after midnight, when Grand behaved like it was going to erupt. It wasn't a Turban Delay interval, as the interval was less than 22 minutes. For the next Turban eruption there was no overflow, as if it had been a Delay interval.

Grand finally had the One Burst Eruption on the eighth interval, lasting under 9-1/2 minutes. Uncertain was gurgling steadily as we left, but after being out that long, decided it didn't need me around in order to erupt.

2024-Aug-21:00:40:08 D8/G1C

00:40:08 B1 --- d=09m23s
00:49:32 P1 9m23s
Vent & Turban continue

          ΣD=09m23s
* * * * *
21:33:35   d=04m47s
21:50:56 Int: 17m21s d=04m16s
22:16:33 Int: 25m37s d=04m21s  D0
22:32:58 Int: 16m25s d=04m24s  D1
22:51:56 Int: 18m58s d=03m57s  D2
23:10:37 Int: 18m41s d=03m50s  D3
23:28:12 Int: 17m35s d=03m24s  D4
23:44:23 Int: 16m11s d=03m35s  D5
00:06:09 Int: 21m46s d=04m21s  D6
00:24:19 Int: 18m10s d=03m39s  D7
        Grand: 15m49s

There wasn't a Turban Delay interval, but Grand still took nearly 2-1/2 hours after my arrival before sunrise to finally have the One Burst Eruption.
