I'd have heard the call for the start if I'd taken the radio with me to the indoor plumbing. With the Beehive interval already approaching 22 hours, I was thinking that it might be a short indicator, but instead it was well over 25 minutes long.

In the evening the weather was not particularly pleasant. It was gray and overcast with a strong wind. At one point everyone waiting dug out their raingear as there were some droplets and the sky looked like it could get much wetter, but the rain didn't ever come. Fortunately only had to wait an hour for the One Burst Grand eruption. The start was explosive, with the first jet of water about 10 meters high, with no preliminary warning. The eruption itself lasted under 8-1/2 minutes, one of the shortest eruptions of Grand I've seen. There was no attempt at Grand's vent even trying to refill.

2024-Aug-24:19:56:30 G1C

19:56:30 B1 --- d=08m24s
19:56:57 Turban 0m27s
19:58:13 Vent Ovfl 1m42s
19:59:40 Vent 3m09s
20:04:55 P1 8m24s
Vent & Turban continue

          ΣD=08m24s
* * * * *
18:57:42   d=04m42s
19:14:47 Int: 17m05s d=04m13s
19:33:14 Int: 18m27s d=03m17s
        Grand: 23m16s

Since the interval for Beehive was already over 14 hours, decided to spend an hour on Geyser Hill just in case it decided to erupt.
