Observations for 2022 July 21

A trip to Norris, where nothing much happened for six hours. Activity from New Crater/Steamboat was decent, but nothing that required the camera to be deployed.

Returned to the Upper Geyser Basin, and learned that Grand had not yet erupted, approaching 7-1/2 hours. So rushed on out and waited another four hours. Got to see West Triplet erupt twice. Both times the Turban eruption after West Triplet ended resulted in a Turban Delay Interval. The first even had a small Boop five minutes before Turban finally erupted. Fortunately, unlike the seven Turban eruption intervals after the first delay, Grand erupted only two Turban intervals after the second. During that time, most of the Turban eruption intervals were under 17 minutes, including one that was under 15 minutes.

The Grand eruption had two bursts, with a pause of nearly a minute preceeding a second burst lasting over two minutes long. Vent and Turban quit immediately after the second burst ended.
