Radio calls 2026 Pt. 2
21 Aug
- Abandoned cooler sitting out in the trees in front of the Photo Shop.
- One of the naturalists started to call out the next OF prediction on the wrong channel.
22 Aug
- Madison -- need a ranger with first aid kit to lance an infected toe.
- A few minutes later -- unattended dog leashed to R V. Can't knock on door to complain about noise because dog is a bit aggressive and vicious.
23 Aug
- At Fairy Falls -- 5 vehicles parked blocking access to lot esp. handicap access.
- Later -- people entering in both lanes so no one can exit. Parking lot temporary closure.
24 Aug
- Employee wanted to make a report about strange person in the dorm last night. No ranger available, was told she'd be contacted back in dorm.. About 1/2 hour later, contact attempted. Reporting party not found at dorm, the ranger told that she had gone on a hike.
- Group of at least 10 motorcycles enter Midway parking in wrong lane, bypassing waiting line. All have New Jersey plates.
25 Aug
- Madison campground-- Talk with owners of dog tied to tree.
26 Aug
- Dog escapes from Lodge Cabin. Somehow ended up way off into the Pipeline Meadows Group. (I got to witness this one from my cabin door.)
- Around midnight there was more Lodge Cabin activity just down the row. So much loud arguing and door slamming and furniture moving that the neighbors in adjoining cabin called it in, and barricaded their door. Just a loud family arriving late.
29 Aug
- Report of smoke and flame visible on hillside behind ball-field in gov't area. Was dark and rainy at time. Fire crew investigated, "UTL", unable to locate. Speculate the RP (reporting party) saw orange sodium vapor lights from wastewater plant off steam//fog.
- Truck with trailer parked in outbound O.F. lane blocking traffic.
- Old Faithful Lodge security needs LE to pickup certain items from cabin left behind by terminated employee.
03 Sep
- West Entrance station. Suspicious pass. Person trying to use it said it was purchased off of Facebook.
- EMS callout: iPhone relay of report of person on fire at Nez Perce trailhead. UTL.
- People approaching two bison on Geyser Hill near Dome. Got their pictures and returned to trail before LE arrived.

- Fairy Falls Trailhead-- Unattended car in the middle of the road.
05 Sep
- West Entrance Station MVA -- Rear ending in wait queue.
- Gibbon Falls-- Woman trapped in the restroom. She was eventually rescued.
- Busy night in the Lodge Cabins -- At least two domestic disturbance calls, including cabin across from ours.
07 Sep
- Single bison causing traffic jam at exit to Old Faithful area.
- Welfare check: Report on US 191 of individual walking on side line wearing blanket and no shoes. Earlier in day similar person received courtesy transport from South District to West Yellowstone. Has extensive history of non-YNP incidents.
12 Sep
- Truck with trailer attempts to make U-Turn at Black Sand Basin. Knocks over sign which is now blocking the road. (This was witnessed and reported by a couple of gazers.)
14 Sep
- Threats -- Terminated security guard threatening to shoot supervisor in back.
- Request for return of confiscated items. Skull is horse, not from the park.
16 Sep
- Someone dropped off at VC what they thought was live ammunition. Construction materials that were found to be harmless.
- Traffic stop of Australian. Inquiry as to legality of "Trehouse Magic Mushroom Gummies". Not psycho-active, so request for backup rescinded.
18 Sep
- Suspicious individual in ranger station parking lot. Going vehicle to vehicle taking pictures.
- C-Tour express driver. Checking for violations.
