Observations for 2023 August 19

A cool damp day that threatened to rain at any time. Out at Grand we saw a couple of Turban eruptions before we got a Turban Delay Interval. It was relatively short (28 minutes) and Grand's pool never looked like an eruption was emminent. Three Turban intervals later, the pool did look good. Turban started, and it took Grand nearly two minutes to finally erupt, from a pool that mostly filled after Turban had started. For the first time in days, Grand had a short first burst, but a second burst lasting 2-1/2 minutes.

Went out to Grand early in anticipation of rain. Turned out we got a few sprinkles during the wait, but far less than the forecast and weather radar would have indicated.

Once again Grand had a Turban Delay Interval on the first Turban eruption after I arrived. Three intervals later Grand had a strong fill, failed to erupt on a otherwise normal Turban interval. It was two more Turban intervals after that before we did get a Grand eruption that lasted just over ten minutes.

All day Beehive was expected to erupt, but didn't. The eruption wasn't until nearly 19:00, for a 34 hour interval.
